Fnality and Finteum have joined forces to deliver a blockchain-based solution for settling FX swaps transactions.
Finteum leverages R3’s Corda platform to create a global financial market for intraday liquidity, enabling banks to efficiently manage and optimise their short-term funding needs. By providing market participants with a shared record of orders and trades, Finteum reduces settlement risk, increases transparency, and simplifies information sharing with third parties such as regulators.
Fnality’s payment system, built on Ethereum, complements this by providing a digital cash system designed to enable immediate, secure settlement using reserves held at the central bank.
Together, the collaboration demonstrates how blockchain technology can enhance the resilience, efficiency, and interoperability of financial markets.
